As part of Cochran’s recent successes in supplying new boilers into Hong Kong we have recently undertaken two training sessions for our Hong Kong customers. Steven Johnstone visited Hong Kong and undertook training for Hong Kong Towngas engineers and technicians. Towngas has recently installed and commissioned six Cochran boilers at various sites and requested training to enhance the support it can provide to their customers. The programme included classroom theory and practical hands on training at site. Steven was assisted by Cochran’s Hong Kong based engineer, TK Cheung, in delivering the training.
Then we were visited by six engineers from Wenden Engineering. They purchased a 7t/h boiler from Cochran in 2017 for installation in a local hospital. This boiler is now commissioned and operational and they have ordered a second boiler which is now in manufacture. Wenden also have maintenance contracts for many older Cochran boilers located in Hong Kong and received training from Steven on the latest boiler and burner controls. As well as enjoying the training for most of them it was also their first opportunity to enjoy the delights of snow!
Mr Kent Tong, Wenden project manager, said “We work with a lot of Cochran boilers in Hong Kong and have found them to be robust and reliable. We need to ensure that our technicians keep up to date with changes in controls and technology so that we can provide the best possible service to our clients. We have found the training most informative and are grateful to Steven for passing on his experience and knowledge”
